Seventh year in a row, the Danube Competence Center organised a comprehensive package of promotional and networking activities related to the second largest European river at the International Tourism Fair Berlin (ITB), called “Danube@ITB“.

This set of activities promotes the touristic offer of the Danube and creates a joint platform for increased cooperation between partners from the Danube region.
Partners in 2018 edition of this package were German National Tourist Board, Danube Austria & Linz Tourism, National Tourism Organisation of Serbia, Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Bulgaria and Department of Culture and Tourism of the Odessa City Council.

The package included several different activities:

  • „Europe invites – Danube connects. Reaching for the new markets” – workshop focused on possibilities of joint marketing campaign on Chinese market with the support of European Travel Commission
  • „Partnerships in European Tourism“ – conference and B2B matchmaking workshop following this EU initiative related to Chinese and US markets
  • „Travelling sustainable along the Danube“ panel – presenting possibilities for sustainable travelling along the Danube as a part of 13th POW-WOW for Tourism Professionals at ITB Berlin
  • Danube Passport Game – prize game for public visitors that generate visits to the booths of participating countries; in order to participate visitors must get their passports stamped on spot
  • Communication package – set of communication activities executed in order to promote the Destination Danube through ITB owned, partner and paid media both in online & offline segment with Danube@ITB landing page as a main communication vehicle

 

Also, traditionally we were present at the Danube Salon organized by the Representation of Land Baden-Württemberg and the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the support of other Embassies and partners from the Danube region.
