Biking along the Danube coast provides a unique opportunity to discover and experience the untouched nature, through an adventure that reveals the secrets of a man’s coexistence with a great river.

Along the banks of the Danube, from both Serbian and Croatian sides, there are cycling routes, as a part of the European cycling route Eurovelo 6. It passes through the best preserved natural areas in the middle flow of the Danube, Nature Park Kopacki rit and Special Nature Reserve of Upper Danube region.

In addition to the beauties of nature, on this exciting route you can meet people who produce the traditional Kulen sausage, exquisite wines, homemade brandies and various agricultural products. You can rest in picturesque ethno-villages and country houses, and enjoy tastes and scents of local specialities. In the evenings, you can stroll through beautiful towns on the Danube, enjoy the quiet nights at farmhouses called Salas, or the sounds of tambourines and fish stew in local taverns called Carda.

Guests are offered a choice of cycling routes A, B, C or D. Depending on the chosen route, guests can enjoy:

– Driving through the green and flat Baranja, Backa and the hilly Fruska Gora;

– Nature Park of Kopacki rit and Special Nature Reserve of Upper Danube;

– Visit the Ecological Center Zlatna Greda, Karapandza, and Karadjordjevo horse stables;

– Visiting sights and attractions, cities and places through which the route passes;

– Local wine and gastronomic delicacies, as well as authentic folk music.

All tours can start and finish in Osijek or Novi Sad, according to guests’ wishes.

Route A: 10 – 14 days, around 500 km

Osijek – Kopacki rit – Zlatna greda – Knezevi Vinogradi – Batina – Bezdan -Backi Monostor – Sombor – Apatin – Sonta – Odzaci – Bac – Karadjordjevo – Backa Palanka – Novi Sad – Sremski Karlovci – Petrovaradin – Beocin – (alternately FruÅ¡ka gora) – Nestin – Ilok – Vukovar – Dalj – Aljmas – Osijek.

Route B: 4-6 days, around 200 km

Osijek – Kopacki rit  – Zlatna greda – Knezevi Vinogradi – Batina – Bezdan – Backi Monostor – Sombor – Apatin – Sonta (along with the Eurovelo 6 Route), and continue on parts of the Pannonian Peace Route (Sombor – Osijek) Erdut – Aljmas – Osijek.

Route C: 8-10 days, around 400 km

Osijek – Kopacki rit – Knezevi Vinogradi – Batina – Bezdan  – Backi Monostor – Sombor – Odzaci – Bac – Karadjordjevo – Backa Palanka – Ilok – Vukovar – Dalj –Aljmas – Osijek.

Route D: 3-5 days, around 160 km

Novi Sad – Backa Palanka – Ilok – Nestin – Beocin (alternately Fruska gora) – Sremski Karlovci – Novi Sad.
