The Danube Competence Center is happy to share that the Danube Winter Wonderland 2025 campaign has come to a successful close. This year’s edition put the spotlight on authentic Christmas traditions and a wide range of winter outdoor experiences across the Danube region, reinforcing its image as a charming and attractive destination during the winter months.
The campaign was marked by strong international cooperation, bringing together 13 partners from 7 countries. By working closely together, partners showcased the Danube’s cultural heritage, festive atmosphere, and winter scenery, reaching new audiences and encouraging travel beyond the main tourist season.
The participating organisations list included German National Tourism Board; ARGE Donau Österreich; Zsolnay Heritage Management Non-profit Ltd. from Hungary; Osijek-Baranja County Tourism Board (Croatia); Tourist Board of the Vukovar-Srijem County (Croatia); National Tourism Organisation of Serbia; Tourist Organization of Belgrade (Serbia); Tourism Organization of Vojvodina (Serbia); Tourist organisation of Sremski Karlovci (Serbia); Romanian Ministry of Economy, Digitalisation, Entrepreneurship and Tourism; Rousse Regional Museum of History from Bulgaria, and tour operators Miross from Serbia and Bike in Time from Romania.
A big thank you goes to all partners and contributors whose enthusiasm and commitment made this campaign possible. Their involvement was key to presenting the Danube as a unique winter destination and to strengthening cooperation across the region through tourism.
